This recording by Valérie DUCHÂTEAU and Antoine TATICH is the fruit of a 30-year friendship.
They met at one of the very first guitar festivals created on the initiative of Marcel Dadi.
From then on, their strings intertwined and their guitars never stopped playing together.
Between Antoine Tatich, with his knowledge of many musical cultures, song, jazz, blues, Latin America and classical of course, and Valérie Duchâteau from the classical world but always at the crossroads, the music of these two artists has always vibrated informally, like an improvisation.
From this complicity was born the desire to experience classical music differently, freely, “improvisibly”.
On the classical side, Valérie arranges a score which becomes a grid, on which, on the improvisation side, her friend Antoine joins her.
Their repertoire is rich and pays homage to composers such as JS BACH, (Badinerie) WA MOZART (Marche turque), Charles GOUNOD (Ave Maria), Frédéric CHOPIN (Suffocation), Franz SCHUBERT (Moment musical N°3), or Jacques OFFENBACH (Le Galop Infernal) and Léo DELIBES (Coppélia) but also to the great classics of the guitar such as the essential "hits" of Fernando SOR and Francisco TARREGA.
At home, America can be Latin, with the Venezuelan waltzes of Antonio LAURO, the tangos of VILLOLDO and Carlos GARDEL or the North with the music of Chet ATKINS, Tom BRESH and Marcel DADI.
A nod to their late friend Roland DYENS, this first opus of “Guitares Improvisibles” opens with one of the most emblematic compositions for the guitar of the 20th century, “Tango en Skaï”.
